This historic location has been on our radar form years and we have struggled to find the right date and fit. We are so happy that we are finally able to offer this amazing day tour to Stream Cliff Herb Farm in Commiskey, Indiana. The history of this farm dates back to 1821 when James Harmon came to Indiana to live on the land his father received for serving in the Revolutionary War. There is a great story of the home and farm and the fact that it is located on the original route of (General John Hunt) Morgan’s Raiders. Seriously, paragraph after paragraph could tell you the history and beauty of this location but you should just sign up and experience it all for yourself!
Lunch at Stream Cliff Herb Farm Restaurant - Served in the beautiful Winery Dining area and is a preselected choice of entrée and side. (Make selection at time of tour reservation.) The chef and staff create scrumptious dishes using fresh ingredients with herbs and wine from the Farm. • Stream Cliff Winery - The winery has a wine list of fifteen delicious wines, each handcrafted in small batches. Many of the wines have horse related names and labels and range from big, bold dry reds to sweet, fruit wines. The building housing the winery is the farm's former blacksmith shop. • Guided tour of the Greenhouse and Nursery - Indiana’s oldest herb farm greenhouse nursery specializes in culinary herbs, ornamental annuals, perennials, garden decor, and houseplants. Get professional advice on how to care for plants from the resident horticulturalists with 20 plus years experience. Of course we will give you plenty of time to shop and have plenty of room for everything you need for your gardening spots. • Stream Cliff Herb Farm Classroom - After much discussion with their team, we decided based on the time of year our tutorial and classroom would be to make a hanging basket. You will choose your flowers under the direction of their staff based on the conditions you will place it in once you arrive home. (Please bring a box, tote, or laundry basket with your name on it or more than one if you wish to buy numerous things. Because they grow all of their plants and flowers they do not have boxes that they would arrive in from other sources.)
